Commonwealth Day 2007
March 12, 2007The Commonwealth - respecting difference, promoting understanding
The Commonwealth Pharmaceutical Association (CPA) as a member of the Commonwealth family recognises the importance of this Day and the 'unity in diversity' among the peoples of Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and Europe who share this identity.
CPA in representing pharmacists and national pharmacy associations in over 40 Commonwealth countries provides a means of communication and collaboration between professionals at varying stages of pharmaceutical development. We work continually to improve health outcomes by encouraging high professional standards, disseminating pharmaceutical knowledge and recommending improved access to the highest possible level of health care in all communities.
The dissemination of the message by national associations and assistance of the Commonwealth Foundation, Commonwealth Secretariat and Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain facilitate operations. This includes the recognition of the role of the pharmacist in international health, developing and implementing public health projects, holding seminars and workshops to strengthen health care interventions and distributing reference books to countries that need such support.
We salute the work of the Foundation and commit to continuing to respect difference and promote understanding today and beyond.
